As much as I wouldn’t mind another bout with the Dragon Ball Xenoverse games, the latest apple of my eye is the Nintendo 3DS action RPG Dragon Ball Fusions. The game launched in Japan earlier this year, and Bandai Namco has just confirmed it will be getting a North American release on Dec. 13.
Europeans wanting to play the game will have to wait until Feb. 2017.
Dragon Ball Fusions takes the show’s Fusion ability to a whole new level by allowing players to mix any two characters together for weird and hilarious combinations. In some cases, they can even fuse an entire party of five into a single, all-powerful being and bring down any enemy instantaneously. The chibi-artwork provides a nice alternative to the normal style found in the Xenoverse games, and the Nintendo 3DS allows it to be portable as well.
Plus, if I really let my imagination run wild, all this Akira Toriyama artwork in a JRPG makes me feel like I’m playing this weird alternate-universe Dragon Quest game.
Dragon Ball Fusions will be released for the Nintendo 3DS on Dec. 13.
