One Piece: Great Pirate Colosseum and Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden are two fighting games developed by Arc System Works for the Nintendo 3DS. It’s been announced the games will allow for cross-game vs battles online and locally! In other words, owners of these games can pit Goku against Luffy or Vegeta vs Zoro. Bandai Namco Entertainment Japan is expected to announce additional details at a later date, with the game updates coming in early November to allow for the online and local cross-game battles.
Thus far, this new feature is only confirmed for Japan as One Piece: Great Pirate Colosseum has not even been announced anywhere else. Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden hit stores in Japan in June 2015 and in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Australasia in October 2015. One Piece Great Pirate Colosseum will make its way to Japanese retailers later this month on September 21.
We at Saiyan Island think it would certainly be nice if these games arrived to other hardware such as the Wii U or PlayStation platforms, similar to Bandai Namco and Ganbarion’s One Piece Unlimited World Red. We’re sure many fans would love to experience both of these games and experience them on a bigger screen with experience cross-game action!
Below are trailers for both games, individually.
